In August 2024, Nissan revealed the 2025 iteration of the potent Frontier pickup truck. The brand, however, is prepared to exhibit even more remarkable derivatives of the truck. The 2024 “Project Trailgater Concept” blends the off-road capabilities of the refreshed 2025 Nissan Frontier with technologically advanced tailgating.

This one-off vehicle was developed specifically for outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy their favorite sports events in the wilderness. The heavily modified Frontier will be publicly unveiled at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, running from November 5-8, 2024. It was created in partnership with PowerNation TV’s Music City Trucks, and the assembly process will be presented in three episodes that began airing on October 14, 2024. The remaining two are scheduled for October 21 and 28, 2024.

Underscoring the 2025 Nissan Frontier’s Adaptability

As mentioned, the foundation of this endeavor is the upgraded 2025 Frontier PRO-4X, and Nissan’s groundbreaking concept vehicle demonstrates how technology can improve outdoor adventures for sports fans.

“Tailgating has been a staple in the sports community for generations. Combining that with people’s love for the outdoors and Nissan’s decades-long legacy with the off-roading scene makes this a truly one-of-a-kind concept that magnifies the Frontier’s versatility and capabilities.”

“Project Trailgater” is here to change the game by featuring a longer wheelbase, a redesigned front fascia, and a spacious six-foot bed. Speaking of the bed, it boasts two massive 43-inch televisions and a booming soundbar for the pickup’s occupants to serenade the local wildlife with the sweet sounds of touchdowns and fumbles. That said, keeping the party going in the middle of nowhere required innovative measures to guarantee a stable power supply.

Nissan turned to Dakota for a 1,500-watt inverter, a tailor-made lithium battery pack, and a folding 180-watt solar panel. For a reliable link to the world–or at least the football game–a Starlink connection was incorporated. Dometic contributed camp chairs, a hydration jug, a cooler, a refrigerator, and a built-in propane grill for convenience. All that’s missing is the kitchen sink, except a fold-out kitchen station and a sink were also integrated into the vehicle.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier Being Altered?

While the automobile was designed with sports fans in mind, Nissan didn’t neglect the Frontier truck’s rugged character. Indeed, it’s an off-road-oriented model that receives a capability boost with Nismo performance updates, including:

  • Forged upper control arms
  • 17-inch Axis beadlock capable wheels with Yokohama Geolandar M/T tires
  • Nismo Off Road performance cat-back exhaust
  • A suspension lift kit
  • High-performance rear shocks and front coilovers

To increase night-time visibility for off-road adventures, “Project Trailgater” sports four-inch round driving lights on the A-pillars, a Nismo Off Road six-inch driving light kit, and rear-facing four-inch fog lights. These additions solidify its reputation as a capable, 7,150-pound carrying overlanding vehicle.
