It takes careful thought and some mental gymnastics to combine helmets and footwear and come up with a vehicular vision. However, that was exactly the process taken by Nissan for the 2025 Kicks’ redesign. The inventive SUV balances its desirable agility with road-ready toughness, transforming a dichotomy into a duality through its ingenious composition.
When conceptualizing the next-generation vehicle, Ken Lee, Nissan’s senior designer, and his design team forced themselves to think outside the box. According to Lee, “When we first set out to design the new Nissan Kicks, the overarching message we wanted to convey was that of agility and toughness at the same time.” After a global competition across the company’s design studios, the final exterior design was created by Marcus Quach.
A Unique Exterior
The 2025 Nissan Kicks aims to solidify its name in the annals of crossover SUV history with the incorporation of safety and driver-assist functions, top-of-the-line technology, and performance ability packed into a sturdy, well-balanced package. Upon viewing the 2025 Kicks, it is easy to see the modifications in overall body design, with the newest compact crossover sporting some bold styling cues. From the front to the rear, the 2025 Kicks emboldens nearly every contour to project its newfound, mature attitude. The exterior styling enhancement complements the robust engine and updated capabilities of the 2025 model.
A subtle roof spoiler adds to the athletic nature of the Kicks and hints at its enhanced performance. The design of the 2025 Kicks was meant to be daring and expressive while encapsulating the essence of contemporary design trends. Nissan is excellent at gauging public appeal and integrating it into original designs to deliver memorable models across its entire lineup, and the 2025 Kicks is a prime example of that.
While the body design is brazen, other features, such as the tail lights, headlights, and grille are more futuristic and sleek in their style. For example, the integrated LED headlights and slick look project a refined, slightly upscale appearance, countering the brawny body that surrounds it. This Yin and Yang appear throughout the entire vehicle, with Nissan balancing an array of personalities in the 2025 Kicks.
Sports Culture in the Cabin
Marcus Quach declared that designers also wanted drivers to have an immediate sense of protection when they approached the vehicle, so the team looked to linebackers. He added, “Our inspiration board had an American football player with a round helmet resting on top of strong shoulder pads.” To clarify, Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all 2025 Nissan Kicks models.
This extensive suite includes basic and advanced functions, like rear cross-traffic alert as well as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. The Kicks S and SV trims also feature standard cruise control, although the top trim SR takes it a step further by adding ProPILOT Assist in the Kicks for the first time ever. ProPILOT Assist adds steering assistance to the cruise control function, making highway driving easier.
Additionally, when drivers enter the 2025 Nissan Kicks’ cabin, they are greeted with a stylish setup, including sporty red accents, large color screens for infotainment and gauges, and comfortable seating for all occupants. A 7.0-inch screen is standard, but the 12.3-inch upgrade is a tantalizing addition that can immediately improve the quality of the cabin’s practicality, design, and entertainment.
