The 2024 Nissan Frontier will arrive in showrooms with a few significant changes, notably a throwback-inspired Hardbody Edition that the automaker claims will tug at the heartstrings of multi-generational truck buyers. Despite an onslaught of competition, especially from pickup trucks like the newly redesigned Toyota Tacoma, the Frontier has carved its niche with numerous configurations, a potent V-6 engine, and a pocket-friendly price.
What to Look Forward to with the 2024 Nissan Frontier
Changes include an upscale SL trim on Frontier Crew Cab models, which feature posh accouterments like LED exterior lights, cowhide seats, and a 10-speaker Fender stereo. In addition, available NissanConnect Services incorporate the following attributes:
- Remote app connectivity
- Easy emergency response access
- SiriusXM radio
- In-car Wi-Fi
- Navigation
The service now includes a three-year trial from the previous six-month offer. The 2024 Frontier remains available in a two-door King Cab or four-door Crew Cab body with a six-foot or five-foot bed. Perhaps the most thrilling modification for enthusiasts is that the brand is replacing the Midnight Edition from the 2023 Frontier with the Hardbody Edition.
Reminiscing with the Hardbody
It pays tribute to Nissan’s original Hardbody pickup truck of the 1980s and features throwback decals, retro 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, black trim, mud flaps, and a sports bar. Experts at MotorTrend nostalgically state that “a huge sports bar in the bed reminds us of ’80s pickups like Marty McFly’s Toyota.” There are even expectations that Nissan could apply a similar treatment to the Pathfinder. The Hardbody Edition comes with a price tag of $3,890 and is available for the SV Crew Cab 4×4.
The Last Hurrah for the Nissan Titan
After 21 years, the 2024 Nissan Titan will be the full-size pickup truck’s final model year before leaving the production line for good. The introductory-level S trim was discontinued, and Nissan now provides six configurations, instead of last year’s (2022) 11. Among those configurations will be a blend of King and Crew cabs with rear- and four-wheel drive options. That said, because the Titan has been a staple in the automaker’s lineup for over two decades, the 2024 Nissan Titan aims to go out on a very high note.
For example, the truck will come outfitted with the standard 5.6-liter Endurance V-8 engine capable of accelerating up to 400 horsepower and generating 413 pound-feet of torque, as well as a maximum towing capacity of 9,290 pounds and a maximum payload capacity of 1,710 pounds. The updated Titan XD will have an increased towing capacity of 11,050 pounds and a payload capacity of 2,360 pounds.
Of course, the 2024 Nissan Titan will be available in a selection of trims, each with their own unique set of performance enhancements. The PRO-4X brings more off-road adventure into the fold with Hill Descent Control, Bilstein shock absorbers and skid plates, and an electronic locking rear differential. Not only that, an all-new package available for the 2024 Nissan Titan is the SV Bronze Edition, which adds black and bronze visual touches, including a front grille and bumper in glossy black, bronze 20-inch wheels, a sports bar, and Bronze Edition floor mats.
