Nissan has revamped its entire SUV lineup in recent years, introducing brand-new models like the Armada and Kicks. However, the midsize Murano, at a decade old, stands out as the brand’s oldest North American offering. The SUV’s age and lack of recent updates might not align with the preferences of buyers seeking the latest features and design trends. Still, as of October 2024, the vehicle underwent substantial enhancements to present the fourth-generation Murano for 2025.

Are They Making a 2025 Murano?

Nissan describes the 2025 Murano as a “road-going sanctuary-like experience for everyday commutes, road trips, and beyond.” While some enthusiasts might have anticipated this update sooner, given the 2015 launch of the previous model, the fourth-generation Murano offers tangible improvements.

The crossover’s dimensions have expanded, with an increased width of 2.6 inches and nearly two inches more ground clearance. Although the overall length and height remain similar to the previous model, the unchanged wheelbase means that interior space is largely the same. While rear legroom has slightly decreased, the Murano’s appeal is primarily about its overall comfort and style.

Indeed, the 2025 Murano showcases a refreshed exterior and a more luxurious and technologically advanced interior. This combination aims to attract buyers seeking a balance of value and sophistication.

2025 Murano Exterior Aesthetics: Influence of Fellow SUVs

The 2025 Murano’s design is a departure from its predecessor, drawing inspiration from the Ariya and the Kicks. The almond-shaped silhouette and tapered side windows create a distinctive profile. The iconic V-motion grille is accentuated by LED daytime running lights seamlessly integrated into the design. Sleek “Crystal Cube” LED headlights flank the gloss black trim strip, emphasizing the modern style.

The Murano’s increased width and flared rear fenders convey a sense of strength and dynamism. The rear liftgate, reminiscent of the Ariya’s, features a full-width LED tail light and a centered Nissan logo. The “MURANO” lettering is positioned below the logo, while the license plate holder was relocated to the lower bumper. Three trim levels are offered, with SV and SL trims exhibiting 20-inch wheels and the top-tier Platinum boasting 21-inch alloy wheels.

The Murano’s Interior and Technology

The 2025 Murano crossover’s cabin experienced a considerable transformation, featuring dual displays that dominate the dashboard and minimize physical controls. This contemporary approach aligns with the technology found in the Ariya. The Murano’s advanced technology package includes:

  • ProPilot Assist 1.1
  • Google built-in
  • 3D Intelligent Around View camera
  • Invisible Hood View for gaining a clear look at the engine bay

Moreover, a color heads-up display is available as an option, and the digital driver display offers customizable views. Android Auto and wireless CarPlay are standard features, and Nissan incorporated active sound cancellation for increased convenience. While a 10-speaker Bose stereo is available, it requires an additional cost.
