What is the “Coolest Thing Made in Tennessee” Award?
The debut “Coolest Thing Made in Tennessee” contest saw over 100 nominations, depicting the state’s varied manufacturing segment. To that end, the Rogue emerged triumphant after three highly contested voting rounds, amassing over 75,000 votes from Tennessee residents. The accolade was presented during a luncheon at the Smart Solutions for Smart Factories Expo convened at The Commons at PIE Innovation Center in Cleveland, Tennessee. The occasion underscored Tennessee’s manufacturing industry and commemorated finalists.
“This recognition means a lot to everyone at the Decherd plant where we build the Rogue’s 201-horsepower VC-Turbo engine, the world’s first variable compression ratio engine. Our employees take immense pride in what they do, and it’s wonderful to see their dedication and talent celebrated.”
–David Sliger, vice president, Decherd Powertrain Operations, Nissan U.S.A.
The Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry/Tennessee Manufacturers Association’s competition aims to exhibit cutting-edge novelties and pioneering cleverness within the state. Indeed, Moore Hallmark from the United States Chamber of Commerce extolled the finalists for aiding all Americans with their innovation and ambition.
