The current Nissan Pathfinder is only two years old, so the automaker is not making any major modifications for the 2024 model year. Still, the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder helps families level up their next journey with a sophisticated design, welcome flexibility and space, and an impressive suite of advanced technology. The three-row family crossover SUV has a starting price tag of $35,810 MSRP, with another $1,335 in mandatory destination fees, bringing the total cost to $37,145.

The Nissan Pathfinder was all-new for the 2022 model year, indicating a “return to rugged” with notable capability and a bold design. The 2024 model year continues to inspire buyers as much for the weekday commute as for the week-long road trip. The latest Pathfinder is currently available in dealerships with a selection of five trims: S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum. As mentioned, the automobile is now more modern and rugged-looking. In fact, Nissan designers managed to integrate a few subtle design throwbacks for fans of the original and very popular 1980s-era Pathfinder, including its triple horizontal slots on the leading edge of the hood and protruding fenders.

Robust Capability

Even though it is a three-row SUV, the Pathfinder starts with good sight lines, and it provides exceptional steering, with very strong on-center, so drivers will not find it drifting out of its lane. As a matter of fact, Nissan incorporates plenty of standard safety features, starting with the introductory-level S trim. Lane departure warning is one of the aspects that is standard from the base S trim up.

Moreover, the nine-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, while drivers can hasten downshifts via standard paddles. Its 3.5-liter V-6 engine accelerates up to 284 ponies and produces 259 pound-feet of torque. The Rock Creek trim, however, ups the ante with 295 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.

Towing is undoubtedly a strong point. The Nissan Pathfinder S, SV, and SL trims have a standard towing capacity of 3,500 pounds with the base V-6 engine, while the Rock Creek and Platinum trims see that standard figure improve to 6,000 pounds. It is worth noting that with the right equipment, though, SV and SL trims can also tug as much as those two top-tier trims.

Interior Creature Comforts

The vast cabin welcomes occupants with spacious front seats, a sliding second row, a cozy third row, and ample cargo room. Indeed, according to Nissan, the SUV has up to 80.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the second and third rows folded, “plus the confidence to explore in nearly all conditions with available Intelligent four-wheel drive, seven-position drive, and Terrain Mode selector.” The Safety Shield 360 suite comes standard, and buyers can still add options, such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9.0-inch touchscreen display unit, a 10.8-inch head-up display, and Nissan’s Pro Pilot advanced driving assist.

Nonetheless, size is not everything: Nissan’s setup retains traditional volume knobs and radio tuning, promoting ease of use. In addition, climate functions can also be altered via conventional buttons and dials rather than having these lost in a flat-panel touchscreen sub-directory. The interior ambiance becomes more luxurious for those who upgrade to the SL trim, highlighted by a Bose 13-speaker audio system, heated rear seats, and a panoramic moonroof.

For 2024, the Nissan Pathfinder offers superb family hauling capability and numerous clever touches.
