Performance

As noted above, the Hardbody Edition houses a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V-6 engine churning out 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. To that end, the pickup truck delivers an outstanding, rollicking ride by steadily rolling over obstacles, while the skid plate allows the driver to batter the truck off-road with no damage to the undercarriage. 

The vehicle is stupendously responsive, and steering is reasonably direct, with no straining, resistance, or complaints. The ride is refined, particularly for a smaller truck, and the brakes are precise, effective, and alert.
