Nissan of Fort Pierce - Nissan Altima

The 2023 Nissan Altima presents a comprehensive array of alluring midsize family sedans. Encompassing a spectrum of trims, these options extend from the uncomplicated and budget-friendly S and SV to the near-luxurious SL and the spirited SR, further enriched by the inclusion of a turbocharged variant for a well-rounded selection. The standard engine across all trims, except the SR VC-Turbo, is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder. However, the SR VC-Turbo stands apart, housing a robust 248 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. In terms of transmission, the sole choice offered is a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Notably, all-wheel drive (AWD) is an available feature on three out of the five trims. For the purpose of this discussion, the spotlight will be directed towards the SV and SR trims.

SV Trim

For a mere $800 above the base S trim, the SV introduces a host of captivating enhancements and widens the spectrum of options, including the availability of all-wheel drive. Elaborating upon the S trim’s foundation, the SV incorporates 17-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch driver assist display unit, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and the inclusion of Nissan Intelligent Key accompanied by a push-button starter. With Intelligent Key in play, a proximity key fob facilitates effortless locking or unlocking of the doors, a mere touch of a button on the door handle being all it takes.

SV Infotainment

The SV trim’s infotainment system receives a significant enhancement through the inclusion of SiriusXM satellite radio, an 8-inch touchscreen display, and four illuminated USB charge ports. Standard offerings also encompass Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, enabling seamless integration of compatible smartphones. The SV offers an optional SV Premium Package that boasts an array of features. This package encompasses heated front seats, a power moonroof, a driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support, heated side mirrors, a steering wheel and shift knob clad in leather, and an electronic parking brake.

SR Trim

The SR trim amplifies the sporty essence that Nissan is renowned for, albeit those seeking greater power will need to ascend to the Altima SR VC-Turbo trim. Evolving from the SV, the SR introduces steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a sport-tuned suspension, Intelligent Trace Control, Active Ride Control, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

SR Style

Further SR attributes include a dark chrome V-Motion grille surround and an exclusive grille insert, along with distinctive exhaust finishers. Interior accents feature red stitching embellishing the doors, seats, and dashboard, complementing the Sport Combo seat upholstery and simulated carbon fiber trim. Additionally, the SR model offers an optional SR Premium Package that introduced heated front seats, leather-appointed sport seats, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, a driver’s seat equipped with two-way power lumbar support, heated exterior mirrors, and a power moonroof. Moreover, the standard 8-inch screen is upgraded to a 12.3-inch color touchscreen. Furthermore, the SR trim can be equipped with all-wheel drive.

The SR trim undoubtedly boasts a meticulously crafted appearance, possibly exuding a higher level of sophistication compared to what the SV offers. However, the SV does hold a notable edge over the SR by offering ProPilot Assist, a valuable safety package that the SR lacks, regardless of the chosen premium package. While the content volume is nearly on par for both trims, the SV’s blend of practicality and security ultimately prevails over the SR’s emphasis on sportiness.
